WHAT I'M WORKING ON
I'm a Senior Multiplayer Combat Designer at Final Strike Games, currently leading the Combat Team on all character and combat-related gameplay for Rocket Arena.

WORLD BUILDINGWhile I believe gameplay to be the most important thing in any game, I do take great pride in how I construct my levels. In order to capture the theme and atmosphere of a world I'm trying to create, I evaluate each element that goes into a level and determine if it supports the feeling that environment should evoke. Even a fantastical world needs to be coherent if players are to believe it could exist.

ENGINE EXPERIENCEI've built levels in multiple game engines and editors including (but not limited to):
Unreal Engine 4, id Tech 6, CryEngine, Source SDK, and Fallout's G.E.C.K. While every engine approaches game design in different ways, each one shares definite commonalities. Once you understand their similarities, picking up a new engine is not so much learning everything from scratch, as it is reframing how you solve a particular problem. |
LEVEL POLISHA complete level needs so much more than basic architecture or gameplay. Ambient sounds, shadows, lighting, music, and narrative clutter all contribute to a level feeling like a complete piece. Even the smallest of areas that lacks polish is enough to take the player out of the level's experience. Understanding this, I feel like my attention to detail is one of my strongest attributes.

Tempest
Check out my level, "Tempest"! In this level, players board an enormous airship and battle their way inside to retrieve valuable intel. In "Tempest", you switch between a nameless COG soldier and his robotic assistant, Jack. Success hinges on players' ability to utilize both of these heroes' unique abilities. View the project.
